Ten Twenty Ten Predictions

Three years ago, I stumbled upon Randy Pausch's Last Lecture on iTunes U. Ever since, I've stopped living for other people and am living for myself; make decisions based on personal growth and goals. So far, it's been very fulfilling. Last year alone, I managed to cross two goals off my bucket list and had to modify running a marathon's objective to 25km.

For 2010, I've made a list of predictions as a motivational tool. Most are broad which is a good thing, because it lets me achieve them more easily thus preventing perfectionism to kick in. As with the bucket list, I'll be crossing off items as I realize them.

Crawling Through Habari's 404 "Handler"

Couple of weeks ago I noticed PDO exceptions in my Habari logs, Google's crawler was most often the originator and I couldn't read the full message since Habari's error handling system is still very basic.

After checking the Webmaster Tools on my Google Account, I noticed their crawler kept requesting high-numbered pages on the Atom feed. Found out the 'last-page' parameter was calculated with the site's pagination option rather the Atom feed's. Reported: Ticket #1112.
